We Found Where the Wild Things Really Are.

It's 11:23 PM and I'm sitting in a small bungalow in the far northeast part of South Africa listening to the roar of lions rumbling across the very still night air.  It's a chilling experience.

My Father and my brother Guy turned back for Johannesburg yesterday leaving my family and my brother Hugh and his wife and their three children to continue on to the Kruger National Park with us.  We are spending the next three nights in the Satara bush camp.

We have a small crisis on our hands.  Andersen was playing with the thatch roof grass and has sliced his finger nearly to the bone.  It has been very difficult to control the bleeding.  We have to get up early and travel 2-3 hours to a medical station to have him checked out - yes the grass is sharp around here - more on that tomorrow.

Meanwhile here are some pictures Lisa took today of some of the wildlife we have seen.  Remarkable encounters.

This young giraffe is about to step on a crocodile!
